Preferred Specimen
2 mL plasma (0.4 mL minimum).
Alternate specimen: 2 mL serum (0.4 mL minimum).

Plasma collected in an EDTA (lavender-top) tube • Serum collected in a red-top tube (no gel)


Instructions
Light protection is required; collect blood sample with foil-wrapped tube. Separate plasma or serum specimens by centrifugation. Avoid hemolysis. Remove 2 mL plasma or serum to a light-protected tube.
Freeze immediately after separation and ship frozen samples on dry ice.

Alternate specimen: No additive (red-top)
