Instructions
"The specimen is collected according to the Thin Prep cytology specimen preparation guidelines. After preparation of the cytology slides, the residual solution (>4 ml) is used for HPV DNA testing. Specimens that show evidence of ASC-US will be evaluated for the presence of High Risk and/or Low Risk human papillomavirus DNA sequences.
Reflex testing of specimens for HPV DNA, regardless of ASC-US status is also available upon request.
Cervical specimens in preservative solution may be stored up to 42 days at room temperature. A minimum of 4 ml CYTYC cytology preservative must be available after cytology evaluation for HPV DNA testing."
