Instructions
Test includes screen for Cryptococcus Antigen. If the screen is positive, a Cryptococcal Antigen Titer will be ordered and performed. A positive screen is presumptive evidence for active infection with Cryptococcus, but the diagnosis should be confirmed by demonstration of the organism in culture. A negative test does not exclude a diagnosis of Cryptococcus. (Replaces the India Ink Test.) Rejection criteria: Inadequate volume or unconventional specimen type.
