Instructions
The procedure can also be performed on conjunctival or nasopharyngeal and rectal smears of symptomatic patients, but the degree of sensitivity has not been established. The test is highly dependent on the quality of specimen collection. Genital specimens with less than 10 columnar epithelial cells cannot be interpreted. Specimens should be recollected. Rejection criteria: Specimen received on any type of slide, on swabs, or from any other sites for which the test has not been approved. Tests for Chlamydia Trachomatis only.
