2 - 5 mL CSF (0.5 mL minimum )


Instructions
Test includes: Gram Stain. If organisms are recovered, identification will follow. Susceptibility testing will be performed on clinically significant isolates for which interpretive criteria exist. If multiple tubes are collected, Tube #1 should not be used for culture. Specimen should never be refrigerated prior to culture. If single tube, specimen should be submitted to Microbiology first.
