2-5 mL CSF (1.0 mL minimum) and 5 mL Serum (2.0 mL minimum)

Instructions

Specimen collection same as for culture. Deliver within one hour of collection. High proteins levels may yield uninterpretable or false positive results. Organisms rendered nonviable by antibiotic therapy can be detected. Culture and gram stain will be performed on all specimens. Antigens include Hemophilus influenza b, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Group B Streptococci, Neisseria meningitidis groups C,W135, A, Y and B; E. coli K1
