Instructions
Screen for Group B Strep only by Culture. Specimen should be placed in Todd Hewitt Broth to enhance the recovery of Group B Streptococci. If possible incubate at 37o until transport, otherwise keep at room temperature. Any Beta Hemolytic Strep will be typed and reported. Sensitivities will not be performed. Groups A and B Streptococci remain susceptible to Penicillin.
