Testing is performed with the Roche cobas HCV assay on plasma or serum. These results should not be compared to results generated from other test systems or other specimen types. If Quest testing is necessary in order to track viral loads from previously positive patients please request testing with the EPIC Miscellaneous order. This test is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of HCV infection in the following populations: individuals with antibody evidence of HCV with evidence of liver disease, individuals suspected to be actively infected with HCV antibody evidence, and individuals at risk for HCV infection with antibodies to HCV. Cobas HCV is also intended for use as an aid in the management of HCV infected patients undergoing antiviral therapy.
Instructions
