Processing Instructions (Lab use only): Centrifuge and separate cells after clot formation and within 4 hours of collection. Specimens from patients receiving anticoagulant or thrombolytic therapy may take longer to complete their clotting processes. Fibrin clots may form in these sera and the clots could cause erroneous test results.Minimum Testing Volume: 0.25 mL Serum or Plasma Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Ambient: 7 daysRefrigerated : 3 weeksFrozen: 1 yearAvoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Causes for Rejection: Unlabeled, mislabeled, wrong tube type, Hemolysis index > 500, Triglycerides >1000 mg/dL, Bilirubin > 15 mg/dL, QNS, exceeds specimen stability requirements.
