Message
Collect 1 light blue tube and 1 red top tube, following standard venipuncture techniques. Fill the light blue tube to the fill line only. Do not over or under fill tubes as the ratio of blood to anticoagulant (9: 1) is necessary for accurate results. Gently Invert the tube three or four times immediately after venipuncture to ensure proper mixing of blood and anticoagulant.

Instructions
Processing Instructions (Lab use only): Within 1 hour of collection, centrifuge, transfer all plasma into a plastic vial, and centrifuge plasma again. Aliquot plasma into separate plastic vial leaving 0.25 mL in the bottom of centrifuged vial. Freeze plasma immediately (no longer than 4 hours after collection) at -20° C. Minimum Testing Volume: 1 mL plasma + 1 mL serum Transport Temperature: Frozen Stability: Ambient: 4 hours Refrigerated : UnacceptableFrozen: (-20 °C): 2 weeks or (-70 °C): 6 months Causes for Rejection: Specimens submitted at inappropriate temperatures, unlabeled or mislabeled specimens, insufficient quantities, submitted in wrong collection container or exceeds specimen stability requirements.
