Processing Instructions: Specimen must be received within 48 hours of collectionMinimum Testing Volume: 3.0 mL loose or liquid unpreserved stool Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Ambient: 24 hoursRefrigerated : 5 daysFrozen: Unacceptable Causes for Rejection: Formed/solid stool specimens, specimens submitted at ambient temperature >24 hours from collection time, specimens that are improperly labeled, submitted in an inappropriate transport container (Cary Blair) or insufficient volumes. Testing will be restricted to one specimen per 7 days. If multiple specimens are submitted, they will be rejected.
