URINE GLUCOSE, 24 HOUR

Message
Add 5 mL glacial acetic acid as preservative at start of collection. Collect a 24 hour urine specimen. NOTE: If the urine collection exceeds 25 hours or is below 23 hours, collection cannot proceed. The patient must recollect their urine sample. Step 1: Empty the bladder at the start of collection, this urine is discarded. Step 2: Collect all urine after the initial void int he collection container . Step 3: Measure and record the 24-hour volumeStep 4: Record the exact start and completion times of the 24-hour collection on the container label.
