Collection Requirements: Submit 1 of the specimens below, following standard collection proceduresCSF collected in a sterile leak-proof container Blood collected in a Gold serum separator, EDTA lavender Rectal, throat, lesion or nasopharyngeal swab collected in VCM (green-cap), or UTM tubePericardial fluid collected in sterile leak-proof container Stool collected in a sterile leak-proof container Immediate Specimen Processing: Centrifuge specimen before transporting to the lab. If drawn using a plain red-top tube, transfer serum to a plastic screw-cap tube prior to transportation. Ambulatory Transport Temperature to Inova Central Lab: Refrigerated Specimen Stability: 7 days
