Processing Instructions: Specimens must be tested within two hours of collection or placed in a refrigerator at 2°to 8°C for up to 24 hours (without preservatives) or 72 hours if collected in a BD tube. Minimum Testing Volume: 2.0 mL Urine Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Ambient: 3 days (preserved urine); 2 hours (non-preserved urine)Refrigerated : 3 days (preserved urine); 24 hours (non-preserved urine)Frozen: Unacceptable Causes for Rejection: Mislabeled and unlabeled specimens, delay in being sent to lab or prolonged exposure at room temperature contamination with feces, and when QNS (quantity not sufficient) status.
