Processing Instructions (Lab use only): Centrifuge as soon as possible after clot formation, preferably within one hour. Acceptable if centrifuged within four hours. Unless stabilized with sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate, glucose in whole blood stored at room temperature is metabolized at a rate of approximately 5% per hour.Minimum Testing Volume: 0.1 mL Serum or Plasma Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Ambient: 2 daysRefrigerated : 7 daysFrozen: 1 daysCauses for Rejection: Unlabeled, mislabeled, wrong tube type, QNS, hemolyzed.
