Instructions
Urine specimens:
1. The patient should not have urinated for at least one hour prior to specimen collection.
2. Female patients should not cleanse the labial area before providing the specimen.
3. Direct patient to provide the first-catch urine into a leak-proof urine collection cup which is free of any preservatives. Approximately 10-50 mL of the initial urine stream should be collected from the beginning of the stream.
