Preferred Specimen
1.0 mL plasma collected in a NaFl Koxl (gray). 
The gray stops the metabolism of Glucose immediately in the sample.

Plasma-NaF KOxl (Gray);

Serum-SST, Red Top or Tiger Top


Instructions
Please note: The test should be performed between weeks 24 and 28 of gestation. Patient does not need to be fasting. Pateient has 5 min to consume 50 gm of glucola. Collect sample 1 hr from the time they finish consuming the glucola.
