Reference Range
Females:  <= 10 ng/L  Negative
Males:  <= 15 ng/L  Negative

Low risk of AMI:  0 hour troponin < 15 ng/L for men and 10 ng/L for women with a 2 hour delta < 4 ng/L.  A 6 hour delta < 12 ng/L is low risk for AMI.

Intermediate risk for AMI:  2 hour delta between 4 - 10 ng/L

High risk for AMI:  2 hour delta > 10 ng/L

Positive for myocardial infarction (Critical Value) > 100 ng/L


Clinical Significance
Useful as an indicator of cardiac event.
