Instructions
  • Wait 90 - 120 minutes following breast feeding to collect sample.
  • Place swab in the mouth until saturated with saliva.
  • Transfer swab to Viral Transport Media.

Specimen Stability
  • Specimens shipped at ambient temperature must be received within 48 hours of collection.
  • Refrigerated or Frozen are stable for 7 days.
  • If a dry swab is shipped at ambient temperature, must be received within 24 hours of collection


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Do not use calcium alginate swab or wood shafted swab
