Specimen Volume: 3 mL (minimum volume: 0.5 mL) of plasma
Collection Instructions: Draw blood before transfusions or B12 therapy are started. Avoid hemolysis.

Serum

Instructions
Specimens are stable at room temperature for up to 24 hours. Samples may be stored refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 48 hours. If testing is delayed beyond 48 hours, samples should be frozen at -20°C or colder. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
