Full tubes of whole blood


Instructions
Label specimen with patient’s full name, hospital and Blood Bank identification numbers, date and time of draw, user name of phlebotomist, and for type and Rh


Transport Temperature
Refrigerate


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Serum gel tube is not acceptable


Setup Schedule
Monday through Sunday


Reference Range
No established reference values


Clinical Significance
Useful for facilitating ready availability of an appropriate Blood Bank specimen in case of future need. Note: No testing is performed unless specific orders are received
