Employee Exposure to Blood/Body Fluids

Message
What to do immediately after an exposure:
  • Wash the affected area with soap and water; rinse mucous membranes with large amounts of water
  • Notify your supervisor
  • Initiate an Employee Injury or Condition Report
  • Report immediately to Employee Health Services. After business hours page the Nursing Supervisor
  • Employee Health Services or the Nursing Supervisor will determine the need for employee bloodwork.
             *There is no defined panel of tests to order for an employee exposure*
