Deliver to Lab immediately. Draw a full tube, invert several times to mix blood

Transport Temperature
Non-heparinized Specimens: Stable for 4 hours if at room temp. or refrigerated, spun or unspun, and must be capped. Heparinized specimens- Specimens should be centrifuged within 1 hour of collection and plasma tested within 4 hours from the time of collection.

QNS, Clotted, Hemolyzed

Clinical Significance
APTT is intended to screen for deficiencies in the intrinsic and common pathways (Factors VIII, IX, XI, XII, Fletcher, Fitzgerald, X, V, II, and I). It does not screen for Factors VII and XIII. The aPTT is also used to montitor unfractionated heparin therapy.
