Instructions
Do not use alcohol or volatile disinfectant in phlebotomy. Keep tube stoppered. Deliver to Lab immediately.

Clotted unspun specimen stable for 2 hours. Uncapped tube stable for 1 hour. Separated serum, capped and refrigerated stable for 2 days.

Clinical Significance
Determination of ethyl alcohol concentration is commonly used for measuring legal impairment, investigating forensic evidence, diagnosing and or treating alcohol dependency, as well as detecting alcohol poisoning.
