Specimen stable for 8 hours at room temp., 2 days refrigerated and longer if frozen.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Spec. rejected if hemolyzed.

See report for normal ranges.


Clinical Significance
PSA is detected in the serum of males with normal, benign hypertrophic and malignant prostate tissue. PSA levels increase in men with cancer of the prostate.
