Methodology

Setup Schedule
24x7

Reference Range

Clinical Significance
CA 15-3 antigen levels are elevated in many patients with epithelial breast carcinoma. Elevated levels of CA 15-3 antigen may also be present in those patients with lung, ovarian, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers, as well as non-malignant conditions including benign breast and liver disease, cirrhosis, and hepatitis.

CA 15-3 antigen, has become a widely recognized breast cancer marker and has shown to be more sensitive than CEA in detecting recurrence of breast cancer. Increasing CA 15-3 antigen levels may be representative of disease progression, whereas, decreasing antigen levels may be associated with disease regression.
