Preferred Specimen

  1. Body Fluid (e.g. Peritoneal or Ascites): Collected into a Red Top Tube or a Lithium Heparin Tube, well mixed. Separate from cells as soon as possible.

  2. Pancreatic amylase sample testing is not performed on this assay.




Specimen Stability
Amylase is stable in the specimen for one week when stored at 15 - 25° and for up to one month when stored at 2 - 8°C.
