Normal Range Adults: < 1% Fetal cells
Note: For maternal peripheral blood results indicating more than 4% fetal cells: High Level positive Kleihauer-Betke results must be correlated with fetomaternal clinical history. Such results may occasionally be due to maternal hemoglobin abnormality (including hemoglobins S and C, thalassemias, and hereditary persistence of hemoglobin F), rather than reflecting fetomaternal hemorrhage.
