Patient Preparation
Specimen Collection and Preparation:
1. Remove the test cup from the foil pouch by tearing at the notch. Use the test cup as soon as possible following the removal from its foil pouch.
2. Instruct the donor to remove the test cup lid and to void directly into the test cup. The minimum volume needed for testing is approximately 25mL and is indicated by the "Minimum Urine Level" mark on the test cup. It is acceptable to collect urine above the "Minimum Urine Level."
3. If insufficient urine volume (insufficient specimen) has been collected, then instruct the donor to provide another urine specimen, using another new test cup.
4. Wipe off any splashes or spills that may be on the outside of the cup.
5. Observe the temperature strip that is affixed on the cup between 2 to 4 minutes after the urine has been voided into the cup.
  • The temperature should be between 32-38oC (90-100oF) which indicates a fresh, uncontaminated sample.
  • If the temperature is outside of this range, instruct the donor to provide another urine specimen, using another new test cup.

Clinical Significance
T-Cup Multi-Drug Urine Test Cups are competitive binding, lateral flow immunoassays for the qualitative and simultaneous detection of amphetamine (AMP), secobarbital (BAR), oxazepam (BZO), cocaine (COC), methamphetamine (mAMP), methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methadone (MTD), morphine (OPI), phencyclidine (PCP), and cannabinoids (THC) in human urine. For in vitro diagnostic use.

The tests may yield positive results for the prescription drugs, oxazepam and secobarbital, when taken at, or above prescribed doses. This test is not intended to distinguish between prescription use or abuse of these drugs. Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly in evaluating a preliminary positive result.

This test provides only preliminary results. To obtain a confirmed analytical result, a more specific alternate chemical method must be used. Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) or Liquid Chromatography/ Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) are recommended for confirmatory methods.
