Instructions
Do not use pneumatic tube system, must walk specimen to lab


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Improperly filled tube, clotted samples, sample submitted via pneumatic tube system


Limitations
Patients with inherited platelet disorders have not been studied with this test.  Patients with platelet counts <100 have not been studied with this test.  Patients treated with Glycoprotein inhibitor should not be tested until platelet function has recovered, about 14 days after ReoPro and after 48 hours for Integrilin and Aggrastat. 


Clinical Significance
Test measuring the level of platelet P2Y12 receptor blockade which measures platelet function based on the ability of activated platelets to bind fibrinogen.
