Clinical Significance
Test measuring the number of all white blood cells in whole blood, per microliter. Leukopenia may be due to bone marrow deficiency, cancer treating drugs, autoimmune disorders, radiation treatment, liver or spleen disorders, emotional or physical stress. Lekocytosis may be due to infections, inflammatory disease, leukemia, certain tissue damage, post splenectomy, smoking or certain drugs.
