Preferred Specimen
Place fecal material in Cary Blair transport media. Specimen must arrive within 24 hours. Refrigerate specimen.
Instructions
Clearly label each container with patient name, date and time collected and appearance of stool (formed, soft, liquid).
Place enough stool specimen in the container to raise the liquid level to the arrow on the label using the spoon provided in each container. Close each container tightly and shake well.
