Preferred Specimen
Please send 2-5 slides (>50mm tissue area) or paraffin block and 1 H&E slide with the area of invasive tumor circled. Send tissue block to Molecular in a red pathology interoffice envelope. AP request form must be included with order.

Specimen Stability
Room temperature - cut slides are stable 60 days. Paraffin blocks are stored for 10 years.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

  • Decalcified specimens

Clinical Significance
Useful for Lynch Syndrome screenings and to determine potential eligibility for immunotherapy by identifying microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) cancers.
