Instructions
Collect fresh unformed stool in a clean container. Transfer unformed stool to Cary Blair media and refrigerate.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Rectal Swabs or Samples in fixative (Formalin or PVA) will be rejected.

Clinical Significance
This comprehensive panel detects multiple gastrointestinal viral, parasitic, and bacterial nucleic acid targets in stool. Testing is for hospitalized inpatients only.

If Clostridium difficile toxin A/B is detected on the BioFire FIlmArray Gastrointestinal panel, the sample will reflex to the C. diff GDH antixgen/Toxin A/B by enzyme immunoassay.
