Tissue block should have a high tumor (>10%) concentration. Avoid necrotic areas. No decalcification or other fixative.

  • Paraffin blocks are stable up to 10 years
  • 5-micron sections mounted on slides up to 6 months at room temperature


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Unacceptable Conditions:
  • Frozen
  • Absence of or <10% tumor cells
  • Decalcified samples
  • Fixative other than formalin

Clinical Significance
Testing is indicated in patients that have any solid tumor AND, advanced stage (III/IV) disease, metastatic, relapsed/recurrent or refractory to therapy AND, not previously tested by same NGS test AND, seeking further treatment for tumor.
