Swab in tube containing 0.5 mL saline or a no additive vacutainer tube (red-top )


Specimen Stability
Room temperature: Test immediately, Refrigerated: unacceptable, Frozen: unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Dry swabs are unacceptable.


Reference Range
No Trichomonas, yeast, or clue cells seen
