Instructions
Collect specimen  thirty (30) minutes after completion of infusion or ninety (90) minutes after injection.

PST (light green top). Red top and SST also acceptable

Room temperature: 8 hours, Refrigerated: 2 days, Frozen: 1 month

4.0 - 8.0 ug/mL


Clinical Significance
Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. GENT test results may be used in the diagnosis and treatment of gentamicin overdose and in monitoring levels of gentamicin to ensure appropriate therapy.
