Group B Strep PCR
MessageNOTE: CDC Recommendations:
Collection of cultures between 35 and 37 weeks gestation is recommended to improve the sensitivity and specificity of detection of women who remain colonized at the time of delivery. Swabbing both the lower vagina and rectum (i.e., through the anal sphincter) increases the yield substantially compared with sampling the cervix or sampling the vagina without also swabbing the rectum.
