Methodology
Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for the amplification of a well conserved region of CMV UL83 Gene.
Setup Schedule
Monday – Sunday (MD)
Report Available
1 day
Limitations
Positive results from saliva are presumptive and should be confirmed with urine
Clinical Significance
This CMV assay is a real-time PCR test that enables the direct amplification and detection of CMV DNA from either saliva swab or urine specimens.
