DRAW 1 GOLD TOP TUBE AND 3 LAV TOP TUBES. FOR GOLD WAIT 30 MINUTES TO CLOT AND SPIN DOWN. SHIP WITHIN 24 HOURS MONDAY-FRIDAY. Serum must be separated from whole blood within 48 hours of collection.*** TEST REQUIRES APPROVAL BY PATHOLOGIST PRIOR TO SENDING!!!

Clinical Significance
Anti-GM1, anti-GD1a, anti-Asialo GM1, anti-GD1b antibodies, and PMP22 gene deletions are found in patients with slowly progressive, predominantly distal, asymmetric weakness with no sensory symptoms or signs. Weakness is sometimes present in one upper extremity in 80% of patients; muscle atrophy is common.
