Instructions
Skin/Superficial Culture Sterile container with no additive or liquid Stuart/Amies bacterial collection swab 24 hours refrigerated (2-8°C) 0.5mL if fluid/pus, any amount of skin scrapings, or swab with specimen material present . Nasopharyngeal swabs - Gently bend middle of plastic shaft. Insert swab into the nostril parallel to the palate and advance until you meet resistance. Leave the swab in place for a few seconds to absorb secretions rotate, and remove while rotating. Swab each nostril with a different swab.
