Blood received in BD BACTEC bottles, use both aerobic and anaerobic bottles to make 1 set.

Instructions
Hold ChloraPrep applicator with sponge facing downward and gently press sponge against skin site and apply ChloraPrep solution using back-and-forth friction scrub for 30 seconds. Allow area to dry for 30 seconds. DO NOT touch the disinfected site. Mark the vials to indicate the required fill TOTAL VOLUME.Remove the flip-off caps from the blood culture vials and wipe top of each vial with a separate 70% isopropyl alcohol pad and allow to dry. BD Vacutainer Push Button Collection Set ("butterfly") is used for collection. Draw ONE aerobic (grey cap) and one anaerobic bottle (purple cap) per order number and indicate time of collection and site on bottle and requisition.

Room temperature: ≤ 24 hours
Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Blood not received in BD BACTEC bottles.
