Specimen Stability
Specimens may be stored on or off the clot, or serum separator up to 3 days at room
temp., or for up to 7 days at 2-8 degrees. If testing is delayed more than 7 days, freeze at
-20 degrees or colder. Avoid more than 3 freeze/thaw cycles.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Unlabeled sample, improper temperature during transport. Wrong sample collection. Sample unspun before transport.

Clinical Significance
A reactive final interpretation indicates presumptive evidence of HBV; anti-HBc
antibodies were detected in the sample which suggests either on-going or previous HBV
infection.
