Special specimen collection kit. The Fetal Fibrontectin collection kit can be obtained from Chemsitry Laboratory.


Instructions
Required for testing: 200 μL sample
Special specimen collection kit available from the Main laboratory or UML, send to laboratory ASAP.  Care must be taken not to contaminate the cervical-vaginal swab with lubricants, soaps, or disinfectants.

Ambient: 8 hours   Refrigerated: 3 days   Frozen: unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Specimen containing blood,bilirubin, lubricants, soaps, and disinfectants.
