Clinical Significance
Calculation for LDL and VLDL are inaccurate when the triglycerides are > 400 mg/dL. Direct LDL measurement will automatically be
performed when the triglyceride value is > 400 mg/dL. Lipids panels are generally performed in a fasting state, however, it is
acceptable to draw a lipid panel non-fasting if this is desired by the ordering provider.
