Instructions

Sample must be: (1) Centrifuged within 2 hours of collection, (2) Serum removed and (3) Refrigerated.

Frozen allowed - stable 14 days

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Gross hemolysis, moderate and grossly lipemic

Liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry using a Laboratory Developed test (LDT)

Evaluating individuals with motor and sensory neuropathies. Monitoring vitamin E status of premature infants requiring oxygenation.
Evaluating persons with intestinal malabsorption of lipids.
