The test should be ordered for patients two years and older.

Centrifuge for complete separation of serum from red cells. Refrigerate or freeze WITHIN 2 HOURS of collection time.

Reference Range
IgA levels are normal and both TTG IgA and EMA IgA levels are within normal limits.
Note: consider other causes for villous atrophy.
- In low risk patients (<5% disease probability), celiac disease is effectively excluded.
- In high risk patients (>5% disease probability), small bowel biopsy is recommended.

Clinical Significance
This panel of serologic studies facilitates the diagnosis of celiac disease and follows the recommendations of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
