Other tests that can be performed from the Thinprep Pap Vial includes:  High Risk HPV, HPV Genotyping 16,18/45, C. trachomatis/N. gonorrhea, Trichomonas vaginalis.  The additional tests must be indicated on the Gyne Pap requisition.

Specimen Stability
ThinPrep samples are stable for 6 weeks after collection for additional testing. 


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
The following conditions will result in a rejected specimen:
  • Specimen submitted in the wrong collection container
  • Specimen not labeled with TWO patient identifiers
  • Specimen collected with an unapproved lubricant
