Instructions
SST® tubes are unacceptable. Draw blood in a red-top tube (no gel). Separate serum after clotting. Ship serum at room temperature. Do not submit glass tubes. An early morning specimen is preferred.

Clinical Significance
Androstenedione may be useful in evaluating patients with androgen excess and managing patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH).
