Instructions
Decontaminate the access point/ outlet by wiping down with bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Isoprophyl alcohol can be used alternatively. Run water for minimum of 15 minutes to eliminate any bacteria which may be present in the outlet line. In case the technician must leave the sink, a note must be left to not turn water off. Using appropriate PPE, fill a sterile 100 mL specimen container and seal it. Label the container with access point or outlet information. Dates and initials are also required.
